JARMIELAW
Jarmielaw was founded by Mark Jarmie in 2004 to aggressively litigate on behalf of selected clients throughout New Mexico and parts of Texas. Much of Jarmielaw’s work involves representing police officers and agencies, employers, and persons whose civil or employment rights have been violated. Jarmielaw performs intensive, fact-based investigations for its clients, combined with careful legal analysis. Mark has over 40 years of legal experience, and dozens of trials and appeals, representing the clients of Jarmielaw.
Mark is also widely utilized as a mediator in both New Mexico and Texas and has successfully resolved numerous disputes in tort, civil rights, employment, business, and contract disputes.
LITIGATION
Mark has practiced in New Mexico and west Texas for his entire professional career. He has tried dozens of jury trials and hundreds of bench trials in both state and federal court, and was named to the American Board of Trial Advocates. He has also made dozens of appellate arguments, and has had two cases considered by the U.S. Supreme Court.
Over the years, Mark has represented primarily government entities and businesses throughout New Mexico, though he’s represented numerous plaintiffs as well. He has represented numerous police agencies throughout the southwestern U.S. defending civil rights and tort actions brought against the agencies or their police officers, and has represented numerous businesses in employment and tort matters.
Mark is frequently asked to conduct neutral investigations of both business and governmental entities. Mark is an adjunct teacher at the UNM Law School in Evidence and Trial Practice.
MEDIATION/ARBITRATION
Sometimes you need a mediator with “been there, done that” experience. Mark Jarmie brings forty years of real world litigation experience to the mediations he conducts. He has conducted hundreds of successful mediations and was recently elected to the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals.
He has also served as a neutral arbitrator in numerous cases in Texas and New Mexico.
